Destiny & Design Internship

The Destiny & Design Internship is the most recent of a number of GDI extended-stay internships that have been tremendously fruitful. The DDI will have a "Design and Destiny" focus. The DDI is designed for emerging leaders in their late teens through early 30's. It will run from June through December of this year.

Who is it for?

The DDI is custom-made for younger believers with a leadership call on their liveswho have been through some form of leadership training or simply grown through solid life experience, undergirded by godly mentoring relationships.  Emerging leaders that are ready for the next phase, but unclear about how to move forward in God's purposes will benefit greatly from gaining a few key handles and adjustments at this point can make a huge difference in the quality and trajectory of their lives over the long haul.

The 4-8 interns will live in community, participate in the life of our small community, work through several internship "tracks" (facilitated by myself, Charlene, and others from the GDI team), receive personal mentoring and individualized life-coaching, and engage in a "work track" in various roles on the premises.  Room and full board will be provided, along with limited transportation for essential outings and recreation.  The cost for the internship will be $350/month plus 20 hours of work per week.  Interns may also elect to work additional hours to offset some of the cost: working 25 hours a week drops the cost to $175/month, while working 30 hours per week will entirely offset the cash portion of the cost.

We can accommodate couples with no children, assuming both persons desire to participate as interns. Older couples or singles—or families with children—who share a strong sense of call to participate will be considered on a case by case basis.  Charlene and I will conduct phone interviews with potential interns, to assess the "fit" and discern God's call together.  Interested persons may contact Karen Bontrager, the program coordinator, at karen.bontrager@gmail.com, or call 540.839-6775.  Karen is usually in the office weekday afternoons, or you may leave a message.
Feel free to forward this email to persons who may be candidates for this internship, or who may know persons who should hear about this opportunity.
