GDI is a part of Vanguard Ministries, International, a relational, apostolic network of leaders and organizations. The members of Vanguard are organized into smaller groups called "clusters." The GDI cluster is made up of churches, organizations and individuals who look to GDI for oversight and perspective.

GDI cluster churches are finding innovative ways to cultivate Kingdom culture locally and internationally. New Hope Christian Church in Wiley, Texas is one example. The members of New Hope are transforming their community through corporate worship, dynamic relationships, growing commitment, and effective evangelism. New Hope is redefining "church" for a growing number of Texans. LifeSpring Community Church in Goshen, Indiana has helped start a movement towards Jesus in Western Africa.

GDI cluster members are also working to bring the Kingdom of God into other arenas of culture. For example, the Dandelion Seed Company is launching writers, artists, painters, musicians, designers, filmakers, and entrepreneurs into their culture-transforming work. Creative people from around the country are joning this vision for Jesus-centered, relationally-rooted artmaking. Christi Bovee in another example of a GDI cluster member making an impact in the arts arena. In 1995 she started an organization called the Greenhouse Arts which resources artists of all mediums through monthly teleconferences, artists' residencies and online interaction.

GDI cluster members are also active in the business arena. For example, Eric Dombach, a nationally-celebrated business coach and entrepreneur, is making an impact in the business community through his Kingdom-centered business ventures. Mark and Monica Neubauer, who run a thriving design business in the Nashville area, are another example of a couple impacting culture through their work.

GDI cluster members gather periodically and relate to each other informally throughout the year. Vanguard's annual leadership summit provides the opportunity for GDI cluster members to network with leaders from the wider Vanguard network. GDI's "Fusion" gatherings bring GDI cluster members together for relationship-building, training, support, encouragement and accountability.
