Examples of these themes include comparing the Kingdom of God to skydiving, God forming the character of leaders during wilderness seasons, setting aside "open space", finding meaning in unexpected places, rethinking the early church and the pastor's role, the emergence of the microchurch, the importance of Allegheniesalliances between local churches and the mobile church, and the importance of learning to do business with God first in every situation.

Location GDI is located in the Alleghany highlands of Virginia, a rural hideaway with unexpected pockets of history and culture.
