GDI works with leaders and organizations around the country and internationally providing oversight, consultation, leadership training, coaching, troubleshooting, and strategic planning. Churches in crisis have looked to GDI for intervention and perspective. International leaders look to GDI to help them respond to God's direction as they develop and grow their organizations.

God is re-creating of the way people"do church" in this generation. Existing organizational structures are giving way to more organic alliances that are based on life flow and relationship rather than role and hierarchy. Many people are recognizing God's work in restoring an understanding and experience of the apostolic role in organizational development and leadership.

An important facet of GDI's mission is developing long-term apostolic relationships with a small number of partner churches and organizations. GDI also provides limited consultation on church leadership and church government issues, giving priority to churches functioning from a New-Testament, elder-led paradigm. Much of GDI's consulting and oversight happens under the auspices of Vanguard Ministries. Doug Fike, Executive Director of GDI, is a founding member of Vanguard's apostolic council.

Over the years GDI has helped many leaders develop an understanding of their life purposes and work toward achieving it through goal-setting. The process GDI developed for to this end is called Life Focus. Life Focus is an important part of Transformational Leadership Coaching's coach training system. Life Focus is also available to organizations in a five event package called Destiny Discovery Quest. People from all walks of life are living more intentional, meaningful, Kingdom-focused lives because Life Focus.
